My Journey
Imagine being a little girl, growing up in the sixties with two parents who told you that you can be - or do - anything you want to. That is how this entrepreneur was born.
At the age of eight, I started selling handmade pot holders door to door, running home to reinvest every penny into more product. My first adult venture was in the cross stitch industry, which I eventually sold after
discovering my true love: fabric.
In 1990, I launched Uquilt.com to showcase the unique tools and sewing gadgets I had a gift for finding. With a sharp eye for curating items that were both fun and genuinely useful, I quickly earned a reputation in quilting and sewing circles as the Toy Lady - known for my delightful collections of clever tools and gadgets.
As my curated finds expanded beyond sewing into unique gifts and playful discoveries, Uquilt.com transformed into The Toy Department - the home for all the fun, one-of-a-kind collections you are browsing today.
